Scotty became fascinated and captivated by the art of puppetry and magic at a very early age. Growing up in Western Massachusetts as an only child, he would to use his puppets and stuffed animals to create full productions in his bedroom. Scotty was also fascinated by the magicians that he grew up watching on television. But it was a magician named Sky that really got his attention. Sky was the first and only African American magician from the same city and he performed at Scotty’s birthday party.These were life changing events that sent him on a course of artistic discovery that continues to today.
For almost Twenty five years, over hundreds of puppet and magic shows, he has been blessed to make thousands of appearances in performing arts centers, libraries, special events, museums and schools across the country.
Besides being an accomplished producer, prop builder, performer and puppet designer, Scotty has devoted much time to teaching young people the art of puppetry and magic as a means of self expression, and has been an advocate of integrating the performing arts into the public school curriculum.
